Devaney & Associates was honored with two awards at the 33rd annual National Mature Media Awards Program. The program, presented by the Mature Market Resource Center, a national clearinghouse for the senior market, recognizes the nation’s finest marketing, communications, educational materials, and programs designed and produced for older adults.
The first was the Gold Award in Logo Design for our agency’s work on the Wellsential Health visual identity system, and the second was the Merit Award in TV Advertising for Autumn Lake Healthcare’s sponsorship of the Baltimore Ravens in collaboration with Freedom Digital Media.
Gold Award in Logo Design: Wellsential Health Visual Identity System
When Dwyer Workforce Development (DWD) acquired 63 for-profit skilled nursing facilities, they set out to rebrand the portfolio into a non-profit dedicated to a higher calling. Together with Devaney & Associates, they developed a new brand—Wellsential Health—and a new mission: to make better health and wellness possible for all.
Part of our creative strategy was a fresh visual identity that encapsulates Wellsential Health’s mission. Kolleen, Senior Art Director, and Jordan, Graphic Designer, crafted a logo that brought the brand to life! “It was really successful,” said Barb Clapp, DWD CEO. “The audience erupted into spontaneous clapping at the reveal.”
Merit Award in TV Advertising: Autumn Lake Healthcare/Baltimore Ravens Spots Created in Partnership with Freedom Digital Media
Funny fact: an ongoing study by global agency Kanter shows that humorous ads get an 11 – 27% bump in audience response for being more engaging and distinctive. When the opportunity came to partner with Autumn Lake Healthcare on its TV campaign spots in sponsorship with the Baltimore Ravens, we knew we had to incorporate humor into the scripts.
The spots were designed to promote Autumn Lake’s “passion and compassion” team approach to skilled nursing and rehabilitation in a positive and lighthearted way. For added motivation (and humor), the clips featured Ravens Pro Bowler Patrick Ricard cheering on Autumn Lake Healthcare residents for their daily tasks—from winning a chess match to completing physical therapy.
