The D&A team is excited to have Coco Cameron and Madeline Drumheller join our agency this summer as our PR and graphic design interns. Internships are a great way to give young minds the opportunity to explore a career path in a very hands-on environment—and we always learn something new from the individuals who walk through our doors. We can’t wait to share what Coco and Madeline accomplish in the next few months, but for now, we’d like you to have the chance to get to know them a little better!
Coco Cameron, PR Intern
Coco is a rising junior at Elon University in North Carolina studying strategic communications and professional sales. Following her high school graduation from Roland Park Country School, she was selected by her peers to be a class representative, taking class notes and working on the alumni magazine, Connections. Her work on this magazine was an introduction into the formal writing process that would teach her how to write on behalf of others. At Elon, she has become involved with Elon News Network (ENN), a student led group revolving around broadcasting, writing, and social media. Coco is a social media specialist for the team managing all of ENN’s platforms including drafting posts, reels, stories, and more!
Originally intending to major in journalism, it wasn’t until January 2024 when she knew she wanted to switch to PR. Taking the “Intro to Strategic Communications” course during her winter term was the deciding factor. Learning about crisis communication; the Research, Planning, Implementation and Evaluation (RPIE) model; branding; brand archetypes; and social media audits were all of great interest to her. This course was the foundation of Coco’s interest which grew over the recent spring semester through learning to write press releases, pitches, competitor’s audits, and more.
Following Coco’s time at Devaney & Associates, Inc., she will be studying abroad for the fall semester in Copenhagen, Denmark. She is excited to learn about the culture, lifestyle, and history that makes it so unique! Furthering her development in the PR industry, she will focus on studying strategic communications while abroad. Coco looks forward to traveling alongside her classmates to London for a week-long study tour to learn how communication professionals work in the UK.
Madeline Drumheller, Graphic Design Intern
Madeline graduated from Towson University where she earned her degree in graphic design. Her love for art started at a young age, with her always experimenting with different fine art mediums and eventually making her way to the digital arts.
Madeline’s journey as a graphic designer has allowed her to explore various facets of the field, honing her expertise in areas such as branding, print design, digital media, and illustration. She takes great pride in her ability to transform ideas into tangible, visual experiences—crafting designs that not only communicate a message effectively, but also evoke emotions and leave a lasting impression.
She’s most interested in working on her animation and web design skills during her summer internship at Devaney & Associates, and we know she will be a wonderful addition to our creative team.
In her free time, Madeline enjoys exploring new restaurants, hanging out with her two tuxedos cats, hiking, and painting.
