Carolyn is a graduate of Virginia Tech, where she studied political science and earned a minor in communications. A true Hokie at heart, she began her marketing and communications career as a travel recruiter upon graduation, where she supported the office of Undergraduate Admissions at Virginia Tech, and later transitioned to the Pamplin College of Business, where she exceeded recruitment and retention goals.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Carolyn elected to return home to Maryland and pursue agency life. She has worked in full-time and freelance capacities as a digital specialist for four years, delivering copy, graphic design, social media management, paid advertising, and email marketing.

When she is not at Devaney & Associates helping brands authentically reach their target audience with strong messaging, you can find Carolyn at 12 Labours CrossFit, where she coaches athletes of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities in their pursuit of health and fitness. Carolyn teaches classes that use constantly varied and scalable exercise modalities, including gymnastics, calisthenics, Olympic lifting, and powerlifting. 

Carolyn’s additional experience in fascia stretch therapy and personal training equips her to serve anyone committed to becoming the best version of themselves.
