Summer is in full swing, and so are the D&A summer internships! We’re thrilled to welcome Elli Nesterovsky as our graphic design intern and welcome back Coco Cameron as our PR intern. Team D&A believes in the power of internships—how they allow young people to explore a different career path and hone in on a new skillset. Plus, we always learn something from their fresh perspectives!
Get to know Elli and Coco before you see some of the fabulous work they do for D&A in the upcoming months!
Elli Nesterovsky, Graphic Design Intern
Our summer graphic design intern, Elli (they/them), recently graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art with a BFA in graphic design and a minor in printmaking.
Although originally from Reisterstown, Maryland, Elli stays connected to their Soviet heritage and highlighted it in their senior thesis at MICA. They created their project, My Mother’s Motherland, as an archival immersive experience made up of their prints of family photos and handwritten reflections in Russian. The whole exhibit was narrated by Elli in Russian—their first language.
Their passion for storytelling spans across a multitude of visual mediums, including painting, printmaking, collaging, designing, and drawing. With in-house graphic design internships for companies that specialize in architecture, satellites, supply chain management, and broadcasting, Elli is excited to gain an even deeper knowledge of branding, logo making, and to strengthen their general design skills—and we’re just as excited to have them!
Outside of designing killer visuals for brands, Elli loves to make jewelry and other hands-on crafts. They’re in the process of becoming a printmaking studio assistant for a former professor’s practice, which uses a Heidelberg windmill press, the stick shift of printing presses! They also enjoy cooking, hiking, antiquing, and rewatching every season of Below Deck.
Coco Cameron, PR Intern
Since interning with D&A last summer, Coco (she/her) has taken on a worldwide perspective of communications. Following last summer’s internship, she embarked on a semester abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark. There, she studied Strategic Communications across Denmark and England, taking her to Aarhus, Odense, London, and Cambridge. Coco met with television stations, toured movie production studios, and visited art museums to experience how individuals communicate with the public. Additionally, she was able to meet with the communications team and learn marketing tactics used by Wimbledon and JYSK, a Danish home furniture company (similar to Ikea).
Her passion for public relations has only evolved since her time back at Elon University. Coco has become involved with Live Oak Communications, Elon’s highly competitive student-run agency in strategic communications and design. This past spring semester, she served as a branding executive, focusing on the promotion of the agency and all internal communications. In the fall, she will switch to account executive, working externally with local clients. Additionally, Coco is involved with Elon’s chapter of PRSSA as an active member, meeting with industry professionals and dissecting case studies.
Her love of public relations began here at D&A in the PR department, and we are thrilled to have her back for a second summer! Coco is excited to continue crafting press releases, pitches, media lists, social media content, and more.
