Day 1: Introducing the 12 Days of D&A

The most wonderful time of the year is finally here and we’re celebrating with 12 Days of D&A! As we prepare for the festive days leading up to the holidays, our team wanted to share some of our favorite memories from 2022, lessons we’ve learned, and what we’re most looking forward to in the new year.

Day 2: Renee

“As I look back on 2022, I’d have to say one of my favorite memories was the Devaney & Associates team coming to my wedding! It’s awesome to have co-workers who are friends, and who care about each other’s personal lives. In terms of work, we helped several clients create new websites in 2022 and a few of my favorites were Capital Senior Solutions and JPS Electrical Services! It’s a blessing to work with such efficient, driven, and kind clients who value our partnerships and share in our success!”

Day 3: Meghan

“I am so excited because I’m getting married on one of the very last days of 2022, so I am most looking forward to seeing what my first year of married life is like. Within our agency, I’m looking forward to growing more within my position. This past year, I took on the role of chair of the Trends Committee for Devaney & Associates—where we research and share current marketing trends that can benefit our organization—and I hope to become more involved with other leadership and networking opportunities in 2023.”

Day 4: Lindsay

“After two years of doing almost everything virtually, I feel like this year I got to return to doing all the things I enjoy most again—both at work and outside of it. Special client events, weddings, concerts, and baseball games—it was nice to be back out in the world! We also were able to help many of our clients secure prestigious award opportunities this year. We had four Top 100 Women winners, two Leaders in Diversity winners, as well as winners for Leading Women, 40 Under 40, Most Admired CEOs, and other industry-specific honors. It’s always rewarding to see our clients earn the recognition they deserve for the great work they do.”

Day 5: Lisa

“This year, I was part of a large-scale advertising campaign for the Baltimore City Health Department that encouraged Baltimore residents to get vaccinated against COVID-19. I worked closely with our media department to plan out the strategy which included spots on high-profile programming like the Winter Olympics and NFL playoff games. Our team also dove deep into connected and over-the-top television and saw amazing results from those tactics. We explored some cool new guerrilla tactics that did not go forward (but we can use them for other clients in the future). I think media planning is a lot of fun—determining where and how our audiences consume media is challenging yet rewarding when you do it effectively—which we do at D&A! Personally, I am looking forward to taking a winter trip to a warm climate with a dear friend—a traditional vacation that got squashed in 2020 and 2021.”

Day 6: Valerie

“One goal that I hope to accomplish in 2023 is to gain a better understanding of agency accounting and provide meaningful feedback so Devaney & Associates can continue to grow and prosper in the new year. Looking back on 2022, my favorite memory was when my daughter announced she was pregnant and that I was going to be a grandmother. We’re all anxiously awaiting our precious little granddaughter to arrive. Who knows, maybe the Stork will bring her on Christmas Day!”

Day 7: jordan

“My favorite memory of 2022 was my spontaneous trip to England. I visited many beautiful cities including Bath, Stratford, Windsor, and London. While there, I attended a fitness festival in Woolwich, which gathered a community of women to spend the day with each other, sharing their personal stories of growth and learning how to become the best version of themselves. It was very empowering to hear women’s stories from around the world (and be there in person, not just virtually). In 2023, I look forward to seeing how the D&A team will grow together! We have invested time and energy into learning how to work collaboratively and efficiently which I think will have a positive impact going into 2023.”

Day 8: Lily

“I think I am most looking forward to getting a new car in the new year. I also want to start cooking more in 2023! I bake a fair amount, but I rarely ever cook anything, and I’d like to get better at it.”

Day 9: Kolleen

“My favorite project from this year has to be working on the JPS Electrical Services LLC website. It was so fun and the client trusted what we could do. I am looking forward to meeting and working with new clients in 2023. It’s always exciting to start new projects and develop creative solutions.”

Day 10: Casey

“One of my favorite 2022 memories was my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary celebration. They taught me everything I know about hard work, commitment, and laughing off the little stuff. Guests weathered snowstorm cancellations and followed COVID regulations to be able to celebrate them for the day, and it was an honor to be a part of it. I’m also forever grateful that D&A gave me the opportunity to complete the Towson University Professional Leadership Program for Women this year. I learned two big things: Know your values and live them. Know your strengths and lead with them. I wholeheartedly recommend the program to other women. Lastly, my one goal for 2023 is to survive my oldest son’s first year of middle school. Based on personal experience, that year is the most awkward year in human existence, so wish me luck!”

Day 11: Susan

“I’m a recent cancer survivor, and my favorite memory of 2022 was when the entire Devaney team came to the hospital after I finished my last 7-hour chemo session. They waited for me outside the oncology department where I went to ring the bell. My cancer journey was difficult, and I dreamed about finishing my last chemo, but the milestone seemed so far away. The support from the Devaney team throughout the process was amazing, but having them there to cheer me on at that moment meant everything to me and I will never forget it. I’m very blessed to have such amazing people in my life.
My most memorable work project in 2022 was teaming up with Pulsar Advertising on the Virginia State Police’s Public Safety Campaign to generate awareness, specifically on human trafficking. It was very rewarding to put together a strategic media plan that helped to raise awareness of this problem and educate the citizens in this area. With the campaign, we were able to provide the public with useful tips on what to look for as well as ways to report potential cases.”

Day 12: Diane

“My favorite memory from 2022 is most definitely when I got to play golf with my husband and two sons for the first time ever! This year, I’m grateful for our team at Devaney & Associates and that organizations seek us out and want to work with us. And lastly, my one piece of advice that I’m carrying with me into the new year is to listen more and talk less.”
