Devaney & Associates Recognized at the 19th Annual Service Industry Advertising Awards

Devaney & Associates Recognized at the 19th Annual Service Industry Advertising Awards

Our agency is excited to announce that we won two trophies at the 19th Annual Service Industry Advertising Awards, the only awards program recognizing advertising achievements in the U.S. service industry. A national panel of judges evaluated over 1,200 entries and rated entries in eight groups and forty-five categories. Only 151 Gold awards were awarded this year with more than 500 advertising agencies and over 1,000 institutions participating.

Gold Award: Website Refresh

In the Website Refresh category, our agency was awarded Gold for revamping Lead4Life, Inc.’s website—taking it from a one-page website to a fully-powered online destination that is modern and user friendly. Lead4Life, Inc. is a community-based organization that utilizes grassroots efforts to help underserved youth, adults, and families overcome significant life obstacles such as homelessness, mental health struggles, and much more.

Lead4Life, Inc.’s previous website displayed outdated programs, lacked detailed information, and did not show the life-changing difference the organization makes in the Maryland community. The organization now has a professional, attractive website that not only houses updated information about its programs but also provides important referral resources, career opportunities, and staff profiles, while showcasing how it makes an impact in participants’ lives.

Merit Award: Special Video - Less Than 2 Minutes

Devaney & Associates also won a Merit Award in the Special Video – Less Than 2 Minutes category for our work on a video produced for client Maryland Relay that describes the benefits of Captioned Telephone.

Maryland Relay is a free public service that provides telecommunications solutions for people who are Deaf, hard of hearing or have difficulty speaking. A Captioned Telephone works just like a standard telephone, but it allows users who are hard of hearing to read captions of their phone conversations on the phone’s large display screen.

Maryland Relay partnered with Devaney and Associates to create a short, easy-to-understand video that could be distributed by senior associations, senior living communities, and other vital partners throughout the state.

The video includes open captions and low-vision design for accessibility, a relatable character driven-story that helps viewers better retain the information, and evergreen animation that features images of the Captioned Telephone technology in a more abstract, symbolic way giving the video a longer shelf-life.

“We are thrilled and honored to be recognized for creating innovative communications tools for our clients,” shares Devaney & Associates President and Founder Diane Devaney. “We are especially proud to have created these projects in support of two organizations who provide critical services that improve lives for Maryland residents.”
